A little guide to help people who actually got lost while watching Inception.

A little guide to help people who actually got lost while watching Inception.

The Architecture of Inception

Inception’s initial premise is that it is a movie set “within the architecture of the mind”. As an architecture student, the movie did intrigue me in that it has shown a vast amount of set pieces from major cities around the world. Paris, Tokyo, Mumbasa to name a few but also the set-pieces seen within the dream themselves.

The hotel scene is one that particularly caught my eye, as the interior design of the hotel really did seem very appealing aesthetically.

Here is an article that further explores architecture in Inception, which is a worthy read and very relevant to us here at Conception.

The Secret of Inception

I loved Inception.

After all the hype thrown out during the build up to the movie’s release, I was beginning to wonder if Nolan’s latest effort had it in it to live up to all the expectation. I should have never doubted the man, since his past work have all been stellar.

As I do after watching any film, I went off to read some of the reviews to read up on other’s takes on the movie. One in particular caught my eye, since it wasn’t the normal run-of-the-mill review but an actual analysis on the deeper meanings to Inception.

The author Devin Faraci explores themes that others have failed to notice or mention and while it may seem a little out there, I have taken them to be the true meaning to the film, as intended by Nolan himself. Maybe it was all meant to be this way, or we’re all putting too much thought into it, but all I know though is that Nolan is a very experienced story teller and after developing Inception for many years, I’m sure Faraci’s theory is not far from the truth.

Anywho, here’s a link to the article. Try to catch up on some of the things mentioned the next time you watch the movie. I certainly did.
